In part yes, although it is not always the interpreter the one afar… There are congresses where we have an interpreting booth on-site and the interpretation coming out of that booth or event is steamed or it happens that the event is held on-site and via Zoom —or another platform,— at the same time, thus becoming hybrid and reaching audiences who cannot attend the event in person.

We provide remote simultaneous interpretation services, through different platforms (Zoom, Teams, Webex, Interactio, Interprefy, etc.) and we can stream the language channels through Facebook Live and Youtube if requested. We have the necessary licenses, the best technicians and moderators and we provide this service to SMEs, large business groups or regional and government institutions.

We are very cautious when we propose a remote service and it is not by chance. Not all audio coming from a remote speaker is valid to be interpreted as an interpreter has to keep talking while listening to what is being said, so a poor quality sound damages their hearing and generates interruptions as the interpreter is forced to keep quiet in order to understand what is being said. A different thing is when you become a listener, because even with a poor audio quality, it is possible to follow the speech —in the same way that we can hear other people on the street while environmental noise and traffic interfere with the reception of the message.
